History reference:
The Swiss franc is the official currency of Switzerland. The history of the modern Swiss franc dates back to May 7, 1850. Until that day, the country did not have a single monetary system: 25 cantons... and half-cantons, 16 cities, and abbeys issued their own money. There were about 860 types of coins of various values and denominations in circulation. Moreover, most of the money circulation accounted for foreign money in general. The situation was changed by the constitution of 1848, in accordance with which a single national currency was introduced. Due to the flexible exchange rate, the strong development of the Swiss economy and the political stability of the country, the Swiss franc is one of the most stable currencies in the world, in high demand as a reserve. It traditionally refers to the currencies of tax havens or offshore zones, with zero inflation and legally fixed gold and foreign exchange reserves of at least 40%. However, this condition, introduced in the 1920s, was abolished on 1 May 2000 due to amendments to the Swiss Constitution. The high confidence of international investors is the reason for the upward trend in the exchange rate of the franc against most other national currencies.

The Eritrean nakfa is the national currency and fiat money of the State of Eritrea, a state in East Africa. Nakfa was introduced in 1997 when it replaced the Ethiopian Birr after the War of Independe...nce. The country went through seven years of stabilization, reconstruction and development before the start of a new border war with Ethiopia in 1998. In mid-2018, a turning point took place in the external environment of Eritrea. Ethiopia signed a peace treaty with Eritrea in July 2018. Eritrea has begun to normalize relations with neighboring countries. In November 2018, the UN Security Council lifted sanctions on Eritrea. The current account surplus will remain high in 2020, driven by Eritrean remittances from abroad (12% of GDP) and mining exports (25% of GDP).
