The state monetary unit of Hungary is the Hungarian Forint (Hungarian Forint, international code - HUF). Previously, forints had small change coins - fillers, but now they are out of circulation. When the Hungarian National Bank first issued the new currency, banknotes denoting 10 and 100 forints entered circulation. Each forint was subdivided into 100 fillers. Until 1991, following the inflationary processes, the National Bank expanded the available set of banknotes by issuing banknotes with a higher denomination. Later, it was decided to revise the design of the currency, and since 2001, on each banknote, on the one hand, a Hungarian statesman is depicted, and on the other, an event associated with his activities. It should be noted that there are no watermarks on the forints. Protection against counterfeiters is provided, first of all, by a holographic strip.
