History reference:
The Kuwaiti dinar is currently the national currency of Kuwait. The Kuwaiti dinar was introduced into circulation on April 1, 1961, replacing the Gulf rupee. The Kuwaiti dinar is three times stronger... than the dollar. In 2006, Kuwait revalued its national currency by 1% against the dollar. In 1990, Iraq occupied Kuwait, the Iraqi dinar was put into circulation, and during the six months of occupation, all cash was taken out of the country. In order to prevent further use by Iraq of the stolen money, after the liberation of Kuwait, a monetary reform was carried out, the Kuwaiti dinar of the new issue again became the official means of payment. In 2006, the emirate revalued its national currency against the dollar by 1%. In May 2007, the Kuwaiti authorities decided to decouple the dinar from the dollar, replacing it with a multi-currency basket.

History reference:
The Mozambican metical has been the national currency and money of the Republic of Mozambique since 1980, after gaining independence from Portugal in 1875.
