History reference:
Afghani is the official currency of Afghanistan. The currency has a long history and was introduced in 1926. Then it looked like a coin made of 900 silver and contained 10 g of pure silver. At the ti...me of the appearance of the currency in the country, rupees were used, Indian, Kabul, Russian and Bukhara coins. Indian rupees were especially common. Afghanistans first own banknotes appeared only in 1935, when they were issued by the National Afghan Bank. In 1991, the banknotes of the period of the kingdom formally lost the force of legal tender, but in fact continued to be used in circulation. During the period of anarchy, warlords and other political movements used their own Afghanis. Until 2002, there were two types of Afghani in circulation: “pressure”, issued by the central government and “dostumi”, issued by order of General Dostum in the territory under his control. The Belize dollar has been the national currency and money of Belize since 1885. Replaced the pound sterling. In 1973, with the change of the name of the country from British Honduras to Beziz, the c...urrency changed its name: from the British Honduras dollar to the Belize dollar. Despite the fact that the state was part of the “fermentation” zone of the British pound sterling, it based its economy on the US dollar. The Honduran dollar continued its attachment to the US dollar even after the UK abandoned the gold standard in the 1930s. However, at the beginning of the Second World War, British Honduras, along with some other countries, joined the area of circulation of the British currency. And after the devaluation of the British pound in 1949, the Honduran dollar was finally pegged to the US dollar. This fact contributed to a sharp increase in the local currency against the pound. For many years, the exchange rate of the Belize dollar to the US dollar has been at the same mark, equal to 2:1, respectively.
