History reference:
Afghani is the official currency of Afghanistan. The currency has a long history and was introduced in 1926. Then it looked like a coin made of 900 silver and contained 10 g of pure silver. At the ti...me of the appearance of the currency in the country, rupees were used, Indian, Kabul, Russian and Bukhara coins. Indian rupees were especially common. Afghanistans first own banknotes appeared only in 1935, when they were issued by the National Afghan Bank.
