History reference:
The countries of circulation are the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani manat became the national currency of the Republic in 1992. In November 1993, all tickets were withdrawn from circulation,... and in January 1994 the Azerbaijani manat received the status of a single means of payment. Putting into circulation in 1992, initially on a par with Soviet and then Russian rubles, largely influenced the status and purchasing value. As a result, by the beginning of 2006, the Central Bank of the country made a decision on the denomination, which turned out to be very successful in terms of further strengthening and stabilizing the exchange rate.
