BBD (Barbadian dollar) is the national currency of the Caribbean island nation of Barbados. Barbados is an island nation in the Lesser Antilles off the coast of South America. Both the Spanish and th...e Portuguese claimed the island during their periods of colonial expansion, but it was the British who later established a colony there in 1627. Since 1949, with the introduction of the British West Indies dollar, the currency of Barbados has become officially associated with the activities of the British Eastern Caribbean and the territory as a whole. Between 1938 and 1949, the government of Barbados issued paper banknotes in dollars. The last private bank notes were issued in 1949. British pound sterling coins were replaced with new coins in 1955. In 1965, the East Caribbean dollar replaced the British West Indies dollar in Barbados.

History reference:
The Syrian pound, sometimes the currency of Syria, is issued by the Central Bank of Syria. In 1920, the Syrian Arab Kingdom was created, but the independent state was only a few months old, after whi...ch its territory was occupied by the French army. In this regard, the Egyptian pound was replaced by the Syrian pound, which was pegged to the French franc at a ratio of 1:20 (1 franc to 20 Syrian pounds). In 1926, the French mandated territory was divided into Lebanon and Syria and the Bank of Syria was renamed the Bank of Syria and Lebanon. It is interesting that the Syrian 10 pounds coin in terms of its characteristics and size completely coincides with the 20 Norwegian kroner coin.
