History reference:
Bulgarian Lev. The first coins and banknotes were issued at the end of the nineteenth century. In the everyday life of modern Bulgaria there are seven denominations of coins and six denominations of ...banknotes, sample of 1999. During the first seven or eight years of the existence of the lev, coins made of gold and silver were issued into circulation, and in 1928 the equality “1 lev \u003d 10.8695 mg of gold” was established. The 2nd World War made adjustments to the countrys economy. Occupied Bulgaria exchanged the national lev for the Reichsmark at a rate of 33.0:1. Liberated by the Soviet troops, Bulgaria changed its money again, but this time to the Soviet ruble (15:1). After the end of World War II, within two to three years, the exchange rate of the lev against the dollar rose to the level of 120.00-150.00 leva per dollar. The population did not have the opportunity to freely exchange money, even at such a rate.

The Belize dollar has been the national currency and money of Belize since 1885. Replaced the pound sterling. In 1973, with the change of the name of the country from British Honduras to Beziz, the c...urrency changed its name: from the British Honduras dollar to the Belize dollar. Despite the fact that the state was part of the “fermentation” zone of the British pound sterling, it based its economy on the US dollar. The Honduran dollar continued its attachment to the US dollar even after the UK abandoned the gold standard in the 1930s. However, at the beginning of the Second World War, British Honduras, along with some other countries, joined the area of circulation of the British currency. And after the devaluation of the British pound in 1949, the Honduran dollar was finally pegged to the US dollar. This fact contributed to a sharp increase in the local currency against the pound. For many years, the exchange rate of the Belize dollar to the US dollar has been at the same mark, equal to 2:1, respectively.
