Bulgarian Lev. The first coins and banknotes were issued at the end of the nineteenth century. After the end of World War II, within two to three years, the exchange rate of the lev against the dollar rose to the level of 120.00-150.00 leva per dollar. The population did not have the opportunity to freely exchange money, even at such a rate.
