History reference:
The pula is the currency of Botswana. Translated from the Tswana language, its name means "let it rain", and the greeting and motto of the state also sounds. After gaining independence from Great Bri...tain in 1966, Botswana was a member of monetary unions: first in the sterling zone, and since 1972 in the rand zone, but the country did not have its own currency. On September 6, 1974, it was announced the imminent withdrawal of the state from the monetary union with South Africa and the beginning of the development of a national currency. It was introduced on August 23, 1976, replacing the rand, the exchange was carried out at a ratio of 1:1.

History reference:
The Rwandan franc or Rwandan franc is the national currency of Rwanda. In 1916, after the transfer of Rwanda from Germany to Belgium, instead of the rupee of German East Africa, the Belgian Congo fra...nc was introduced, in 1960 it was replaced by the franc of Rwanda and Burundi. In 1964, the latter, which was the common currency for Rwanda and Burundi, was replaced by the Rwandan franc. There is a proposal for a single currency, the new East African shilling, for the five member states of the East African Community. While this was originally planned to happen by the end of 2012, as of December 2020, the single currency has yet to be introduced.
