History reference:
The Belize dollar has been the national currency and money of Belize since 1885. Replaced the pound sterling. In 1973, with the change of the name of the country from British Honduras to Beziz, the c...urrency changed its name: from the British Honduras dollar to the Belize dollar. Despite the fact that the state was part of the “fermentation” zone of the British pound sterling, it based its economy on the US dollar. The Honduran dollar continued its attachment to the US dollar even after the UK abandoned the gold standard in the 1930s. However, at the beginning of the Second World War, British Honduras, along with some other countries, joined the area of circulation of the British currency. And after the devaluation of the British pound in 1949, the Honduran dollar was finally pegged to the US dollar. This fact contributed to a sharp increase in the local currency against the pound. For many years, the exchange rate of the Belize dollar to the US dollar has been at the same mark, equal to 2:1, respectively.

The Comorian franc is the currency of the state of Comoros. The Comoros entered the franc zone in 1976. The name of the national currency is borrowed from the former metropolis, which is quite typical for states that were former colonies of France. The Comorian franc was put into circulation almost immediately after the countrys independence, replacing the French colonial franc. The Central Bank of Comoros, which is the main and only issuer of the national currency in the country, exchanged French colonial francs for the national currency at a ratio of one to one. But the relatively high exchange rate of the Comorian franc did not last long. During the period of the 80-90s of the last century, as a result of inflationary processes, it depreciated quite a lot, after which smaller denominations and coins were withdrawn from circulation.
