The Swiss franc is the official currency of Switzerland. The history of the modern Swiss franc dates back to May 7, 1850. Until that day, the country did not have a single monetary system: 25 cantons... and half-cantons, 16 cities, and abbeys issued their own money. There were about 860 types of coins of various values and denominations in circulation. Moreover, most of the money circulation accounted for foreign money in general. The situation was changed by the constitution of 1848, in accordance with which a single national currency was introduced. Due to the flexible exchange rate, the strong development of the Swiss economy and the political stability of the country, the Swiss franc is one of the most stable currencies in the world, in high demand as a reserve. It traditionally refers to the currencies of tax havens or offshore zones, with zero inflation and legally fixed gold and foreign exchange reserves of at least 40%. However, this condition, introduced in the 1920s, was abolished on 1 May 2000 due to amendments to the Swiss Constitution. The high confidence of international investors is the reason for the upward trend in the exchange rate of the franc against most other national currencies.

History reference:
Manat is the monetary unit (national currency) of Turkmenistan. The manat was put into circulation on November 1, 1993. Until that time, since the declaration of independence, Soviet and Russian rubl...es were in circulation in Turkmenistan as a means of payment. The exchange of rubles for manats was carried out in the ratio: 1 manat = 500 rubles, maximum one adult citizen of Turkmenistan could receive up to 60 manats. On November 1, 1993, a new monetary unit, the manat, was put into circulation. All banknotes had the image of Saparmurat Niyazov, the former president of the republic. In January 2009, the government of Turkmenistan carried out a denomination in the proportion of 1 manat of the new model = 5,000 manat of the old model.
