History reference:
CLP in the foreign exchange markets stands for the abbreviation for Chiles currency, known as the Chilean peso. The "old" peso was used as the currency in Chile between 1917 and 1959, when the escudo... (CLE) came into effect. The current (or new) Chilean peso was reintroduced on September 29, 1975, replacing the escudo with an exchange of 1 peso for 1,000 escudos. The Chilean people also refer to their currency as "lukoi" when referring to the 1,000 peso note, "quina" for the 500 peso coin, and "gamba" for the 100 peso coin. On September 29, 1975, instead of the escudo, the peso was reintroduced, the escudos were exchanged for 1000:1 pesos. During the years of the dictatorship, on the obverse of the 5 and 10 peso coins, the image of a winged woman breaking the chains was used, with the signature LIBERTAD (freedom) and the date of the military coup 9/11/1973 - the figure symbolized "liberation from Marxism". After the restoration of civil power in Chile, the design of the coins was changed, the image of the national hero Bernardo OHiggins was placed on the obverse.

Bolivar is first a minor (in 1871-1879), and then the main (from 1879 to 2018) monetary unit of Venezuela. Bolívar is named after Latin American independence hero Simón Bolívar. The bolívar was p...assed under the Monetary Law of 1879, replacing the short-lived Venezolano at a rate of five bolívares to one Venezolano. The bolivar was originally defined by a silver standard, equal to 4.5 grams of pure silver, following the principles of the Latin Monetary Union. The monetary law of 1887 made the gold bolivar unrestricted legal tender, and the gold standard came into full force in 1910. Venezuela abandoned gold in 1930, and in 1934 the exchange rate of the bolivar was fixed in US dollars at a rate of 3.914 bolivars = US$1, valued at 3.18 bolivars = US$1 in 1937, a rate that lasted until 1941 Until February 18, 1983 (now called Black Friday (Viernes Negro) by many Venezuelans), the Bolívar was the most stable and internationally recognized currency in the region. It then fell victim to a massive devaluation.
