History reference:
The national currency of Egypt is the Egyptian pound or guinea, pronounced el-Giney, el-Mashri). In 1834, according to a royal decree, on the basis of a parliamentary bill, the issue of a new monetar...y currency of Egypt, the pound, was launched, a currency of a larger denomination in relation to the piastres. History reference:
Pataca is the national currency of Macau (Aomyn or Macau) - a special administrative region of the Peoples Republic of China. Pataca was introduced in Portuguese Macau and Portuguese Timor in 1894, b...ut only as a unit of account. The unit originally corresponded to the Spanish dollar, also known as the Mexican peso or the Philippine peso, and replaced the Portuguese real at the rate of 1 pataca = 450 riza. The name Pataca stems from the fact that the Portuguese always referred to the Spanish dollar as the Pataca mexicana, since as part of the Spanish colonial empire they were formerly usually minted in Mexico after which they rolled up the Philippines as part of the Spanish East Indies through the Manila-galeon trade.
