History reference:
The Gibraltar pound has been the national currency and money of Gibraltar since 1927, although Gibraltar received the right to print its banknotes only in 1934. The Japanese yen is the official currency of Japan, one of the worlds leading currencies, an important reserve currency along with the US dollar, euro and pound sterling. Coins differ from each other in the material of manufacture and pattern. Made of nickel are 500 yen (with a paulownia flower on the front), 100 yen (sakura), and 50 yen (chrysanthemum).
