The North Korean Won is the official currency of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. There are two versions of spelling and pronunciation: "won" - in the feminine, as prescribed by the Spelling... Dictionary of the Russian Language of the Russian Academy of Sciences, edited by V.V. Lopatin, and "won" in the masculine - as the Bank of Russia writes in its daily quotes of the currency bearing the same name as South Korea. This is due to the complexity of translation from Eastern languages. Throughout almost its entire history, the Korean Peninsula has been under the cultural, political and economic influence of a powerful neighbor - China. This influence was also reflected in the monetary system of Korea. Until the end of the 19th century, the main monetary unit was the Korean mun - a cast bronze coin with a square hole.

History reference:
The Fijian dollar (FJD) is the national currency of the Republic of Fiji, an archipelago state with over 300 islands. FJD was first introduced in 1867, but its latest iteration has been around since ...1969. The modern version of the FJD was introduced in 1969, replacing the Fijian pound at a rate of 2 FJD per Fijian pound. Since then, however, the value of the FJD has been allowed to fluctuate freely in the international currency markets. Between October 2015 and October 2020, the value of FJD against the US dollar remained relatively stable at approximately $0.47 per FJD.
