History reference:
Loti, in pl. h. maloti is the currency of the Kingdom of Lesotho. From February 1961, the South African rand, issued to replace the South African pound, was in circulation in Lesotho. The national currency of Egypt is the Egyptian pound or guinea, pronounced el-Giney, el-Mashri).
