History reference:
The Moldovan leu is the currency of Moldova. The Moldovan leu became the national currency of Moldova in late autumn 1993. Despite the large number of economic reforms and political upheavals that th...e Republic of Moldova experienced during the years of its independence, its money has changed little. The main role in the internal and external markets of the Moldavian Principality was played by foreign silver and gold coins: ducats, florins, zlotys and others. In the 17th century, the Dutch coin “leeuwendaalder”, which depicted a lion, also penetrated the Balkans and Moldova. The inhabitants of Moldova called these coins lei. In 1867, this name was given to the currency of Romania, and after the collapse of the USSR, the monetary unit of Moldova. The Bulgarian lev has exactly the same etymology.

History reference:
The krone is the currency of Sweden. The Swedish krona was introduced into circulation in 1873, as a result of the formation of the Scandinavian Monetary Union, which lasted until the First World War.... The new monetary unit replaced the riksdaler that had been in circulation before. The Scandinavian countries became members of the union, with the name of the currency krona in Sweden and krone in Denmark and Norway, which means “crown” in Scandinavian languages. After the collapse of this association, all three countries decided to keep the name, but for their own currencies. By tradition, on the front side of a coin in denominations of one crown, a portrait of the monarch of Sweden is depicted, and on the reverse side one of the coats of arms of Sweden, or a crown. The coin also bears the kings motto.
