History reference:
The Malawian kwacha is the national currency of the Republic of Malawi. Banknotes in denominations of 50 tambals, 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 Malawian kwachas are in circulation, in total more... than 35 banknotes of various modifications. The Cape Verde Escudo (Cabo Verde Escudo) has been the national currency and fiat (fiduciary) money of the Republic of Cape Verde (Republic of Djibouti) since 1977. Replaced the previous official cur...rency of the Cape Verde Islands escudo at a ratio of 1 to 1. The Bank of Cape Verde periodically issues commemorative coins in base and precious metals. Commemorative coins are legal tender and must be accepted in all settlements at par. In 2014, a new issue of banknotes with improved anti-counterfeit protection followed. The banknote of 200 escudos was the first in the history of Cape Verde, printed on a polymer basis.
