History reference:
The Norwegian krone has been the currency of Norway since 1874 (when the Norwegian krone banknotes began to be printed, and Norwegian coins have been known since 995), when it replaced the Norwegian ...daler. For the first time, the inhabitants of Norway were able to pay with their own coins under Olaf I Trygvasson, who ruled the kingdom of the harsh Vikings at the end of the 10th century.
