The Nepalese rupee has been the national currency and money of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal since 1932, when it replaced the Nepalese mohar at a ratio of 1:2. The Kingdom of Nepal managed to make war with one of the largest states of that time - the British Empire. The fighting began in 1814 and ended two years later, in 1816. None of the parties won a clear victory, as a result of which a peace treaty was concluded that determined the borders of Nepal. They have remained unchanged to this day.
