The Solomon Islands dollar is the national currency of the Solomon Islands. Originally a British protectorate, the Solomon Islands gained independence in 1978. Although the Solomon Islands is an independent nation, it continues to recognize Queen Elizabeth II as its constitutional head of state. The official language of the country is English. The Solomon Islands dollar began to be put into circulation on October 24, 1977, replacing the Australian dollar. The currency got its name in honor of the Australian currency. Since gaining independence in 1978, the new currency has become the official currency of the young state. For two years, the Solomon Islands dollar was pegged to the Australian dollar.

The Zambian kwacha is the currency of the Republic of Zambia. 1 kwacha is made up of 100 ngwee. The kwacha has been the currency of Zambia since 1968, when it replaced the Zambian pound (exchange rat...e: 1 pound = 2 kwacha). Kwacha means "freedom" in one of the local dialects. On January 1, 2013, the kwacha was denominated with a change in its codes in the ISO 4217 standard: new letter code - ZMW (old - ZMK)
