History reference:
The Somali shilling is the currency of the Federal Republic of Somalia. On July 1, 1925, it was replaced by the Somali lira, and when Italian Somalia was included in Italian East Africa, the East African Italian lira, which circulated along with the Italian lira. The civil war in Somalia in 1991 led to the formation of the self-proclaimed state of Somaliland. On October 18, 1994, the Somaliland government issues the Somaliland shilling, which lasted only 4 months until January 31, 1995, which was exchanged at the rate of 100 Somali shillings for 1 Somaliland shilling. The Fijian dollar (FJD) is the national currency of the Republic of Fiji, an archipelago state with over 300 islands. FJD was first introduced in 1867, but its latest iteration has been around since ...1969. The modern version of the FJD was introduced in 1969, replacing the Fijian pound at a rate of 2 FJD per Fijian pound. Since then, however, the value of the FJD has been allowed to fluctuate freely in the international currency markets. Between October 2015 and October 2020, the value of FJD against the US dollar remained relatively stable at approximately $0.47 per FJD.
