History reference:
The Turkish lira has been the national currency of Turkey since 1923 and replaced the Ottoman lira, which in turn has been in circulation since 1844. Ancient coins were issued by sultans and bore their names, but not portraits - in accordance with Islamic tradition. In 1327, Akche ("whitish") was minted by Orkhan. This small silver coin was in circulation on the territory of the Ottoman Empire and its neighboring states in the 14th - 19th centuries. Starting from 1623 until 1930, a silver Turkish coin was also in circulation - a pair. Then it was used exclusively as a counting unit, 1/40 kurush. Kurush is a small Turkish coin used in the Ottoman Empire since 1688.

The Comorian franc is the currency of the state of Comoros. The Comoros entered the franc zone in 1976. The name of the national currency is borrowed from the former metropolis, which is quite typical for states that were former colonies of France. The Comorian franc was put into circulation almost immediately after the countrys independence, replacing the French colonial franc. The Central Bank of Comoros, which is the main and only issuer of the national currency in the country, exchanged French colonial francs for the national currency at a ratio of one to one. But the relatively high exchange rate of the Comorian franc did not last long. During the period of the 80-90s of the last century, as a result of inflationary processes, it depreciated quite a lot, after which smaller denominations and coins were withdrawn from circulation.
