The Tanzanian shilling is the currency of Tanzania. The Tanzanian shilling has been in use since 1966, when it replaced the East African shilling at par or at a 1:1 ratio. The pula is the currency of Botswana. Translated from the Tswana language, its name means "let it rain", and the greeting and motto of the state also sounds. After gaining independence from Great Bri...tain in 1966, Botswana was a member of monetary unions: first in the sterling zone, and since 1972 in the rand zone, but the country did not have its own currency.
