History reference:
The Vietnamese dong has been the national currency of the united Vietnam since 1978 and has been on the forex market to this day. In northern Vietnam, the dong appeared earlier - in 1947, in the Sout...h - a little later - in 1955 (also called "free dong"). In 1887, Vietnam became a colony of France, and from December 22, 1896, the French Indochina piastre was used as a currency in the country, which was equal to the silver Mexican peso and had 24.4935 g of pure silver. From May 1947, North Vietnam began issuing the dong of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The exchange rate of piastre to dong was 1:1. But the piaster was used in parallel with the dong in North Vietnam until November 1954. South Vietnam on September 22, 1955 announced the cessation of the use of piastre as a currency and, a month later, on October 15, the issue of banknotes of the National Bank of Vietnam in dongs began. An interesting fact is that on a banknote of 200 Vietnamese dong in 1987, a Belarus tractor is depicted.

History reference:
The Belize dollar has been the national currency and money of Belize since 1885. Replaced the pound sterling. In 1973, with the change of the name of the country from British Honduras to Beziz, the c...urrency changed its name: from the British Honduras dollar to the Belize dollar. Despite the fact that the state was part of the “fermentation” zone of the British pound sterling, it based its economy on the US dollar. The Honduran dollar continued its attachment to the US dollar even after the UK abandoned the gold standard in the 1930s. However, at the beginning of the Second World War, British Honduras, along with some other countries, joined the area of circulation of the British currency. And after the devaluation of the British pound in 1949, the Honduran dollar was finally pegged to the US dollar. This fact contributed to a sharp increase in the local currency against the pound. For many years, the exchange rate of the Belize dollar to the US dollar has been at the same mark, equal to 2:1, respectively.
