History reference:
The Icelandic krone is the currency of Iceland. Introduced in 1885. The Brunei dollar is the currency of Brunei. Early currency in Brunei included cowrie shells. Their issue followed the one cent coins in 1304 AH. (1888 AD). This cent was equal to one hundredth of a dollar. The Brunei dollar replaced the Malayan dollar and the British Borneo dollar in 1967 after the formation of Malaysia and the independence of Singapore. Until June 23, 1973, the Malaysian ringgit was exchanged at par for the Singapore dollar and the Brunei dollar.
