History reference:
Pataca is the national currency of Macau (Aomyn or Macau) - a special administrative region of the Peoples Republic of China. Pataca was introduced in Portuguese Macau and Portuguese Timor in 1894, b...ut only as a unit of account. The unit originally corresponded to the Spanish dollar, also known as the Mexican peso or the Philippine peso, and replaced the Portuguese real at the rate of 1 pataca = 450 riza. The name Pataca stems from the fact that the Portuguese always referred to the Spanish dollar as the Pataca mexicana, since as part of the Spanish colonial empire they were formerly usually minted in Mexico after which they rolled up the Philippines as part of the Spanish East Indies through the Manila-galeon trade. History reference:
The Congolese franc has been the national currency and money of the Democratic Republic of the Congo since 1911 (from 1967 to 1997 in the country, in connection with the renaming of the country to Za...ire, it was renamed the new Zaire). The old name and country and money returned in 1997. In 1998, the Congolese franc was again declared the monetary unit, replacing the new zaire in the ratio: franc = 100,000 new zaire. The Bank of Zaire is renamed the Central Bank of the Congo. Banknotes of the 1997 sample were put into circulation.
